Google is planning to renovate its ‘Search’ with a drastic makeover, in order to provide more relevant and direct answers to the queries of the users.

Google Search RenovationUntil now, the search giant Google has been showing the results of a ‘Query’ in its search, based on the ‘Words’ in the related websites. However, the search engine is working to renovate the Google search feature to provide additional relevant results to a particular query, apart from the current list of web links or Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs).

The search company is eyeing to incorporate the ‘Semantic Search’ technology, a process of perceiving the exact meaning of the word typed in the search. With the help of semantic search, Google aims to facilitate the users by displaying more relevant and direct answers at the top of the search results page. For instance, to know the answer for ‘50 US States’, the search giant could provide the exact answer, rather than providing links to various sites.

How does ‘Semantic Search’ technology helps in providing exact answers? Google acquired Metaweb Technologies, a knowledge graph company in 2010 and has extended its vast databse from 12 million to 200 million like movies, celebrities, places, companies, people, things and many more. Additionally, the company would merge the semantic search technology with the current system, to show the exact results of the query in the search results.

The upcoming Google search renovation is one of the biggest changes made by the company in its history. Amit Singhal, a senior vice-president of the company quoted that, the new makeover of Google search would enable the search engine to match better search queries with the vast databse comprising millions of entities, which have been gathered in the past two years. He also expressed his hope over the new web with the answers. He also emphasized on the year long undergoing process to enter the next generation of search.

Google would be hoping to stand against Facebook, the social network that has collected a huge database with hundreds of millions of people, places and things. However, the social networking site did not provide a strong built search engine. Besides, the company is also expecting that the new ‘Semantic Search’ change would lure people to spend more time on its search engine to keep up with its competitors like Facebook and Twitter. Do you think, Google is trying to think like a human?
